A slide may be caused or exacerbated by a variety of tire-related problems. One of the contributing factors to a skid is a tire that is either bald or has insufficient tread. A lack of traction and stability can also be caused by tires that have the incorrect amount of air pressure in them.
If you notice that your tires are losing traction, the first thing you should look at is the tread. Low tread depth can result in reduced tire grip, which can make it difficult to maintain control of your vehicle, particularly in rainy circumstances or while starting off from a stop. A tread that is very worn might even cause the tire to slip when the circumstances are dry.
